Privacy policy¶
Not yet finalized
This privacy policy is currently a public draft in the spirit of transparency around data usage and collection practices for this project.
Last updated: 2026-11-04 (effective TBD)
This Privacy Policy how the Wiki Community Labeler maintainers collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you:
- use and subscribe to our moderation service on supported Atmosphere apps
- request for verification
- visit the project website and its documentation
For the processing activities where we act as a controller, as described under "Verification requests" below, the data controller responsible for personal information is:
You may also email privacy@recaptime.dev for data privacy inquiries or file a issue
in the monorepo for other inquiries regarding the project.
Moderation service usage¶
The moderation service primarily exists as an account labeler for wiki-related and wiki-adjacent projects, alongside the wiki admins and moderators and wiki software dev teams behind them. When your client checks for any labels applied against an Atmosphere account through the moderation service, we'll process the following information such as the following to provide the service:
- the Atmosphere account being queried alongside your own Atmosphere account if you visit your profile page
- technical information like your IP address for security purposes such as rate-limiting
If you report an Atmosphere account into our moderation service for impersonation, abuse and policy-breaking reasons or to flag their account for review through the in-app reporting feature, we'll process and store the following information in our Ozone instance to allow us to review these reports:
- your Atmosphere account handle and DID (decentralized identifier)
- the Atmosphere account handle and DID of the account being reported alongside its content if reported at content-level rather than profile-level
- the report reason to assist in investigation and further review, which may be shared with other moderation services and account hosting providers to mitigate abuse and misbehavior
We may notify both parties regarding our decision alongside transparently publish those in the project monorepo without identifying the reporter for privacy unless they opt in.
Verification requests¶
When you request for verification (currently privately via Bluesky DMs or publicly in the issue tracker), we'll process the following information such as:
- your Atmosphere account handle and decentralized identifier (DID) associated with it
- your wiki project details like name, project, the software it uses to run the wiki and link to the source repo if applicable
- your wiki project account username and its URL of your user page OR link to your code forge account if it's not hosted on Tangled and any role in the project
Once we confirm that your or your wiki project's Atmosphere account follows our policies, we'll publish those records into our account data repository within the account hosting provider (currently via Tangled's own PDS) and in the monorepo for transparency purposes.
Note that verification requests via Bluesky DMs may be accessible by Bluesky staff in accordance with its Privacy Policy for abuse monitoring and antispam measures and the issue tracker-based verification flow is accessible to everyone on the web, including those who access Tangled through its APIs, so please do not share us any sensitive information in either method.
We are working towards developing more ways to submit verification requests while keeping at least the minimum required information to process those, and any updates to this Privacy Policy will reflect these developments in the future.
Website¶
The project website is hosted on Wisp.place, an Atmosphere-native static hosting service. We do not use any analytics or tracking service for the project website, and its privacy policy may apply.
Changes to this Privacy Policy¶
We may update this Wiki Community Labeler develop over time.
If we make a material change, we will notify affected users through an appropriate method, such as email or a prominent notice within Wiki Community Labeler project's website, monorepo README and Bluesky. Where a change materially affects how personal information is processed, we will provide that notice before the change takes effect when required or appropriate, so you have an opportunity to understand the change and exercise your rights. If a new purpose requires consent, we will seek that consent before processing for that purpose.
The effective date at the top of this Policy indicates when the current version took effect. Earlier versions can be accessible through its git history in the monorepo as raw Markdown files.
